GALAXY_ROBOT.jpg
GALAXY ROBOT - AIRGAMS - SPAINThere are plenty of Galaxy robots out there but this is the oddest example. It is a small oval bodied light blue plastic robot creature with thin chrome silver legs and very long grey arms. Two decals and the disk shooting slot form a sort of face. Amber plastic dome on the top. Long grey arms. Battery operated action: the creature walks with flashing lights and shoots disks from its mouth. The arms shoot plastic missiles.

The Galaxy decal on the head gives it its name but a box has not been found to confirm this. Details? Box? Maker?

ROBOT (ORANGE) - PAYA - SPAINOrange plastic battery operated robot with TV screen. The box shows the grey boy astronaut but the toy is the orange robot version. The face is clearly robotic. This version is entirely battery operated and probably later than the grey version. Walking action with lighted eyes and television screen in the chest.

The orange version is in fact a painted version of the grey plastic. There two decal variations of the orange robot:

1 Robot Espacial version with a three-star decal and a shoulder antenna

2 The rarer (and probably later) NASA version

Made by PAYA and available to shops from 1967 to 1972.

ROBOT A RESORTE (GREY) - PAYA - SPAINThis is a grey plastic astronaut with the little boy's face. The robot is 10 1/2" tall and operates on a combination of batteries and wind up. The robot moves forward with three flashing antenna lights. The robot takes 2 C-cell batteries which fit under the clockwork mechanism.

The walking mechanism is wind up. There is a basic on/off switch mounted on the outside of the battery box. Plastic battery op TV astronaut. The box has the A RESORTE (spring) wording and the toy is the corresponding grey boy astronaut version. This is almost certainly earlier than the orange version. Both versions have a stabilising wheel on a metal extension at the rear. The TV is a simple paper decal. Spain.
