Mr Robot

Three names for essentially the same robot, with just a paint job and a name change on the front panel to separate them. The skirt body pressing also appears as the basis of the Talking Robot. I don't have a chronology for these three robots but it's usually the common one that proves to be the oldest. The most common version is undoubtedly Mr Robot, so I guess it's the daddy of the bunch.
The action is simple and effective: a bump and go movement with a colour effect inside the lighted head. This head is an elaborate clear plastic structure with a complex looking arrangement of plastic and springs inside. (The same head appears on the very rare Jupiter Robot.) The arms merely swing loosely.
Mr Robot is available in two colour variations. The commoner has a red body with black arms. It has a black chestplate which carries the name Mr Robot. Slightly harder is the white body robot with red arms, and red chestplate. Both colours carry the Cragstan importer's logo. The box is a simple illustration of the robot on a plain background. It sounds ordinary but is quite appealing.
The interchangeable nature of this robot would suggest that any of the red, white or silver bodies could appear with any of the three nameplates. Since there's a lot of money involved you should be sure of your source before paying the premium for a rare combination. They tell me these are 1950's robots but I wish I had some confirmation for this claim. I can only find evidence that they're from the 1960s.
