In most branches of industry the products of all the major competitors lie so closely together, that the product sells on emotion rather than specifications.

If you are in the middle of a massive show, surrounded by competitors who sell nearly the same thing at nearly the same price, do you have the public approached by a gray-suited salesrep. with the eternal:” Can I help you, sir?”.
Or do you capture their attention with a seemingly unrelated, or at least harmless looking crazy machine? Once you are talking, you are talking!

Also, when you add up all the internal and external costs, your man at the trade show will cost between $100.- and $300.- an hour. Think of how much more effective he will be if he is happy, having fun and can use an efficient “Icebreaker” to approach the public.
